From Animation to Ice – Ice Age Live!

Turning a movie into a live production can seem an impossible task, especially when the protagonists are woolly mammoths. Then imagine the logistics of adding a dozen or so musical numbers, and, as a coup de grace, staging it on ice. That's precisely what Ella Louise Allaire and Martin Lord Ferguson, the story and musical directors/composers, did with "Ice Age Live! A Mammoth Adventure."

Ice Age Live!, which ends a series of UK dates at Wembley Arena this week before embarking on a five-year international tour, is a spectacular, multimedia mash-up of puppetry, ice skating, “uplifting pop-rock songs”, circus acts and dance numbers, performed by a cast of 42 and set to a score recorded by a 100-strong orchestra at Abbey Road.
'Ice Age’ Live Show Producers Discuss Original Film and New Characters

Producers of "Ice Age Live! A Mammoth Adventure," an original live show based on Fox's Ice Age film franchise, provided some glimpses into the show and its planned new characters on Wednesday. The producers didn’t disclose details of the live event’s story, but it is understood to be based on the first three films. “It's really a new story we're bringing to life,” Ferguson said in a video.

Une Québécoise au coeur de la superproduction Ice Age Live

La Québécoise Ella Louise Allaire a écrit les dialogues, les chansons et la musique de la mégaproduction Ice Age Live. La comédie musicale sera lancée le 2 novembre prochain en Angleterre, et la tournée mondiale devrait s'arrêter à Montréal en 2015 ou 2016. Pour la musicienne originaire de Trois-Rivières, la musique est une vieille histoire d'amour.
